Green Project
What is the Green Mile Project?

Quaking Aspen/populus temuloides
Quaking Aspen/populus temuloides are plants that grow rapidly, and each year, after plantation, they will grow up to 5ft. and a mature plant can grow up to 50ft. with 25ft. diameter/spread, which will at least produce tk.10,000 – tk.15,000 worth of lumber.
Long term benefit: Greener environment plus economic stability
Economic growth refers to the quantity of goods and services produced. For this project, we forsee that people in Bangladesh will be able to reach economic stability by making a profit when they sell the high-priced lumber from these trees. In the begining of this project, we’ll provide them with plants for FREE, so they can get a head start. Based on the properties of these trees, the people of Bangladesh will have a good quantity of lumber in a short period of time.
Additional Benefit: A mature plant would have seed and it will help individuals to run their own nursery of plants and sell them to potential buyers, which will generate income for an indefinite amount of time.
Another important benefit is obviously a greener environment for the residents of Bangladesh. Bangladesh is a country that is manifested by deforestation. Due to deforestation, environemntal degradation and depletion of natural resources are often present. With this project, we hope that we can protect the environment by making it more greener.
Each year one mile of vacant space will be replenished with new living trees. This will be the beginning of a greener Bangladesh, and the more funding we get the more miles of land will be greener. For a head start, we are starting to go with just one single mile and plant as many trees we can.
